Yvonne Brioux

September 30, 1944 - April 9, 2019

Yvonne Brioux passed away peacefully at Hospice Prince Edward in Picton, Ontario on April 9, 2019, in her 74th year. She was born in her maternal grandparents’ farmhouse to the late Bill and Jean (Newport) Sloan on September 30, 1944. She was the wife and soulmate of Ramon (Ray) Brioux, and the cherished mother of Jesse (Patricia) and Thomas Brioux, and the loving grandma of Quinn and Sadie Brioux. Her siblings are Sandra (Gerard) Demaiter of Thamesville, John (Sheila) Sloan of London, and Sharon Lehnert, Bill (Connie) Sloan and Virginia Sloan, all of Bothwell. She was the sister-in-law of the late Father John Brioux (Vancouver), Mary Brioux (Ottawa), Chris (Margaret) Brioux (Oxford Station), Regina (Robert) Juneau (Oxford Mills) and Valerie (Joseph Forte) (Corkery). Yvonne was an accomplished portrait artist whose medium was water colours. She worked as a commercial photographer. An intrepid salt-water sailor, she cruised in the Caribbean with her husband Ray for fourteen seasons. She was also an avid runner who ran many five and ten kilometer races and completed several marathons. Her family would like to warmly thank the staff at the Hospice Prince Edward in Picton for their exceptional care, thoughtfulness and consideration. A celebration of life will be held at the Alexandra Yacht Club, 2 Stadium Road, Toronto, on Saturday June 8th from noon until 5 p.m.
